We are looking to upgrade our video production equipment in order to create higher quality commercials, web videos, music videos, and more for local businesses and artists in the New Orleans area. Your investments will go towards a new HD Video Camera, Lenses, a basic Light Kit, a basic Audio Package, and necessary hard drives, batteries, tripods, and expendables that make everything work.

My name is Ryan Shovey and I am the owner of a local video production company in New Orleans, LA called Freak Daddy Productions. I have been an independent filmmaker for close to a decade, and this past year I opened an LLC for my company to start offering high-end video production for local businesses and artists in New Orleans. This includes TV & Web Commercials for businesses, Music Videos for local musicians and artists, and even Web Shows / Series, Short Films, and Feature Films to help the local independent filmmaking community grow and thrive along with the major studio pictures that are filmed here every year.

In the past, I have written and directed three short films and a music video that have all screened in film festivals across the country; Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart, an adaptation of the classic short story which earned a CINE Golden Eagle Award For Filmmaking Excellence, Zeik's Bad Day, a 3-part web-mini series that has screened at the Orlando Film Festival and gains new views on youtube every day, "Just Take Your Time", a music video for local blues artist OLGA which is currently playing in 8,500 retail/entertainment stores across the country after a successful festival run, and more recently, HUNTER, a short, slasher film nominated for Best Short Film and Best Editing at the Shockfest Film Festival in LA. This past year also allowed me to produce and create the four recent commercials for the Demo Diva Demolition company here in New Orleans. Finally, I also started a podcast for local film makers and movie lovers in general called Movie Makers Talking Movies. In the future, I am looking to expand the production quality and quantity. This upcoming year, I have more local films, web series, and commercials that are on the list to be made. However, with how small my company is, and how new it is, getting a bank loan or credit cards is just not feasible. On top of that, in order to stay afloat, I need to keep costs down and rent when I can, which unfortunately does not help for business expansion or equipment upgrades at this level. This is where you come in.
